Since 2008, Habitat for Humanity of Tennessee and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) have worked side by side to expand access to affordable homeownership and strengthen communities across the state. Through this partnership, 477 homes have been built, representing $65 million in total development. THDA has invested $10 million through its Housing Trust Fund Program, while Habitat affiliates have leveraged an additional $55 million through other grants and donations of funds, labor, and goods to make these homes possible. More than 1,600 Tennesseans have gained the stability of a newly constructed, energy efficient, affordable home through this partnership.

In fiscal year 2026, the THDA Housing Trust Fund provided $500,000 toward the construction of 20 new homes across Tennessee. These homes, with a collective appraised value of $5.4 million and an average value of $274,000, now provide stable housing for 59 Tennesseans. Fourteen of the families served earned at or below 60% of their area median income, while six earned between 61% and 80%.

This partnership is about far more than building homes. Each home creates a foundation for greater stability, financial security, stronger communities, and new opportunities for Tennessee families.
